Waiting is the hardest part

As many of our family and friends know, we've been at this adoption thing for almost 3 years. Well, we talked about it for awhile, then became foster parents within our state hoping that we would find our daughter through a state adoption. Well after a lot of tears and about a year, we felt God calling us to an international adoption through Ethiopia.

Waiting for her is so hard. In a pregnancy you know in about 9 months a baby will come. You typically would know the sex and the health of the baby. In an adoption, it's just pure faith. Faith that it will ever happen...lol! We know that His timing isn't ours, but the human part of us takes over and our excitement of having another child sets it, and we wait....and wait.

We were hoping that we would have her home before our move to Missouri, but it probably won't be until late this year, possibly early next year. I tell you what, waiting has made us just a bit more Christlike. It has taught us that our eyes should be on Him first. We have given our wait to Him and trust that He will bring her to us in the right time. In the meanwhile, we dream of her and our lives together.

The waiting is definitely so hard. There are so many setbacks and unexpected bumps in the road, but it is amazing how much God uses this journey to shape us to be more like Him. Have patience and enjoy the ride!!!

Hello, Hyman family! We are Amanda and Andrew of Hawaii (currently). We're pursuing the adoption of our 2 children from Ethiopia. We're not too far ahead of you-we're hoping to get our dossier off to Ethiopia within 2 months or so. We've been on a long and bumpy journey as well.
I look forward to reading about your progress and you have a precious son! :)

Waiting is hard and waiting on something that you want so dearly is even harder. Keep faith in Him. With Him all things are possible.

Hi there! Just found your blog. We're adopting too, and have just started "offically" waiting. I can relate to what you said about adoption making you more Christlike. We have already been faced with choices and decisions about how to respond to circumstances. It's has been a very good heart check for us so far! I will enjoy following your process!

Well, I wish I had something clever and encouraging to say to you girl, but I know there aren't words to help. I love you and i'm praying for you and Brandon and your baby girl! It's hard girl. But whatever happens, you and Brandon will be amazing parents and offer some baby, somewhere, someday an awesome home.
And i'm gonna miss you so much when you move, so lets not talk about that anymore!!
