Happy Eleven Months!

Happy Eleven Months! It hasn't been all happy, but I can honestly say I'm more at peace with the waiting. Due to multiple circumstances, we are looking at the possibility of a fall/late year travel. We don't know when we will get a referral and it could be soon or months. The reason for the late year travel is because the courts close in Ethiopia for a rainy season, and adoption cases aren't heard. I'm surprisingly okay. I didn't even realize that today was 11 months until my 11 month adoption buddy reminded me of our special day! So, as of now, we are almost the longest waiting family for a girl with our agency. No stressing here!
So check out our first carrot!

Yeah, with the abandonement issue also came a slow down of available referrls. I dont want to say "It just cant be that much longer!!!" like I want to, but this whole process seems to be taking longer all the way to the bitter end. Hang in there. I admire your attitude. You will enjoy your summer more that way.

Your boy is just too cute!! I just want to kiss those cheeks. Happy 11 months! I hope it is the last month-aversary you have to post. This whole process is one HUGE life experience. Can't say that I could handle it again but we will be very proud to say we survived it entact when we finally have our girls!

To answer your question you left on my blog, no we will not be using CHI...I don't have the patience. I think they have been great but I just haven't seen any progress in them trying to remedy the LONG wait times (as you know first hand). I think we are going to use Adoption Avenues, the agency Meg DeZutti is using. It took 18 months from start to finish for Zara and we had estimated 9-12 when we applied, so if it was that much longer I don't even want to think about how long it could be by the time we apply again. Especially when there are good ethical agencies out there giving referral in weeks, not months...Hang in there though, you are so close!!!
