HOLY COW!

Okay, so maybe not a cow...lol! I just found out that their are only 15 let me say that again 15 families ahead of us asking for the same age and sex! Oh My God, yes I said OMG because that's all I can say! There have not been any referrals for the last two weeks, but last month they referred out 12 children. Again, the courts will be closed until October, so we would not be able to travel until after a court date, which looks closer to November, if we get a referral before October. OMG! I'm just in shock because we are actually going to have a daughter and it's becoming so real that I just can't believe it. Yeah, we knew it would happen some day, but wow, only 15 families ahead of us!

As for the move, we are in Houston and will be going to Sea World this weekend and then to Dallas for 2 days, Oklahoma for a day and then...............HOME SWEET HOME!!! I'll be sure to update everyone once we get there. I don't have my wire to upload pictures, so you'll have to wait until we get home to Missouri.

Hooray -
You are almost there. I read your other post about the negative person, too... too bad for them. I think we just need to know that we are doing what God is leading us to do. We are His followers and I think you are an inspiration. Keep your head up and your heart strong and let the waiting begin... It is worth it.

15 is a good number. I keep praying referrals will start coming in!
I read you other post about the person who asked about the money for adoption vs. the money for the birth parents. etc.. I think that there are things that we will never understand. The Bible is clear that some things are just for God to know. Some things are revealed to us, but not all... I often wonder if more people would do things to help end poverty what the outcome would be. I was doing some research into the droughts that Ethiopia face. I am not sure if you know this but apparently this started when man started cutting all the trees down there. God planned for their to be rain in that region, but man cut down His creation. Trees are crutial to the production of rain....
I believe that everything God does or to us seems to not be doing are just designed for us to seek Him more. We are curious by nature, we want answers, we long for peace and contentment. God supplies all of this and we just busy ourselves trying to blame Him for all of our problems.
I whine because I wait, yet in this wait I have been so often in the presence of my Maker. God has been faithful to me in the past and He uses this waiting to remind me of His faithfulness. I don't know. I lost my best friend/ cousin when she was 11 and I was 10, she dies of cancer... My husbands mother and then his best friend both died in the same year...... People ask, why didn't God heal them? I think sometimes these are questions we just have to say "I don't know" to. Perhaps we need to just let out words be few in these situations and be reminded that God does have a plan, and His ways are higher than ours... I am sorry that the birth families are suffering. I pray for them often! I will never pretend to have the answers or understand... But I hope that people will hold onto the truth that God is good that He carries us always!!!!!!! Deut. 1:31; Deut 32:18; Isaiah 46:3-4; Isaiah 49:15; Isaiah 66:13; etc etc etc..
Okay I totally wrote a book and didn't intend to. I knwo you can't read tone in comments.. but I am typing in the most gentle, almost somber tone as I reflect on the situations people are facing and yet knowing all will be revealed one day... I have faith to know that God is good. I hope your annoymous commenter will also... I guess all in all I am sad that things like this happen and yet I find much joy in adoption, but I know that it would be far better for poverty and disease to end... So yeah.. I guess I just don't know..

Anyhow, again congrats on the number...!!!! :)
blessings,
Elise

I have been meaning to send you a message for a while. I saw all the nastiness on the yahoo group. Such a bummer. I am ready to junk that group. It should be much more supportive. You can't go into adoption without considering all the difficulties and complications that it encompasses. It is immature for others to think that we haven't considered the feelings of the birthparents and our children. Anyway, enough of that. We are requesting the same age and sex with CHI. How did you know that you are number 15??? Our dossier went off on 6-13. So excited to read your post!!

WOW! I am speecless. While I am not adopting (but Clement and I are leaning more towards it lately), I understand how you feel. To want and pray for something for son long and watch The Lord bring it to pass.... it is beyond words. Your faith, courage, and strength is a living testimony to us all of what an obedient, disciplined life in Christ can bring. Blessings to you all, and a big CONGRATULATIONS!
